Police arrest 14-year-old in connection with fire at Kampung Siglap Mosque

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 14-year-old in connection to the fire which engulfed the Kampung Siglap Mosque, located along Marina Parade Road on Tuesday.

Following initial investigations, officers from the Bedok Police Division managed to establish the identity of a suspect.

The youth was nabbed around the vicinity at about 3.30pm.

He will be charged in the Juvenile Court on Wednesday. If convicted, the youth could be jailed up to seven years and fined.

The blaze, which caused the roof of the Kampung Siglap Mosque to collapse, happened at slightly past 2pm.

A man in his 50s was injured trying to escape from the fire, while some 150 people had to evacuate from the mosque.

hope all the jalan2 raye will be onoging like last yr. cant wait!.. oh ya i loveeeeee raya this yr coz it was more like a family gathering tt was worth the wait. we needed this, as a family. so anw whoever wan2 come my hse just sms me coz theres no open house! no maid seh. so me n my sis haf to do EVERYTHING lke serve the guests drinks and kuih and all. here's to show tt im not a spoilt brat. hahaha.

skul's starting tmr and i sure as hell wana aim for my 1st class honours! i HAVE to. f1 rocks is this weekend which im so excited for. hmm wat else. basically my life's gona get on track again. i miss having a routined life. haha.

everytime theres sth to celebrate about there's bound to be sth that will pull me back down. i guess now i'm going to 2nd yr uni start say, next 2 weeks? 2 more yrs till i get my degree i swear i wana get it over with. this is the point where u just wan2 get out. out to who knows where. just away. and carefree.

my [almost] daily dose of lekor and deng2 haf ironically made me feel fat in this fasting month. i think i shd just stay away from bazaar and their delicious food! anyways, cant wait for beyonce and bep concert. gona haf a GREATTT time wit ooze n zie for sure. oh ya speaking of them, caught the coco before chanel movie and i must say it was goood. the 2 songs that kept playing in my head were so cute, i swearrr. with all the cutesy dance moves [where is coco? coco coco... and torpedo girl] hahahaha.

its great to noe that i still haf some happiness in me. its things like these that make me appreciate the little things in life.

p.s. i need to clean my room or i will never know wats under that huge pile of clothes. correction: huge PILES of clothes. i never realised i had that much.

i wana go holiday again plssssssssss.
